Shauna & Robert’s Wedding

We spent our Friday night in Ballymena at Shauna and Robert’s wedding reception.  It was actually Robert who inspired this blog title!  We were chatting to him again during the buffet, and asked was everything ok for him?  He replied “Yeah, everything is great.  Do you know Larry?”  Of course we didn’t know Larry, and were caught hook, line and sinker! lol  We replied “No, we don’t know Larry”, to which Robert replied “Well, I’m as happy as Larry!” lol  We thought it was really funny, and it also gave us an excuse to use a funny dog pic for our header…

Bernie & Stephen’s Wedding

Bernie and Stephen’s choice of first dance last night inspired this blog title. They picked The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love, but what made it stick in our minds was that they picked Janet Devlin’s beautiful cover of it!  It’s the first time we’ve heard her interpretation, and it’s such a brilliant version – well worth checking out if you haven’t heard it…

Melissa & Jonny’s Wedding

Jonny is the inspiration for this blog title and pic!  We were chatting to him after we arrived, and he was telling us about how his mates set him up after the speeches!  They were just about to about to wrap up, and a policeman walked in to make an announcement.  He proceeded to say that a delivery lorry had damaged two cars, and read out their model and registrations: one of them being Jonny’s prized Audi!  He obviously wasn’t in on the joke and panicked as soon as he heard this, much to the amusement of all the guests! lol  He took it in good sport though, so all was good…

Bernadine & Sam’s Wedding

We were in the Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena on Saturday, playing at Bernadine and Sam’s wedding. We’ve known Bernadene since shortly after we started the band, as we used to play in the Corner House Bar in Randalstown (where she’s from) a lot. We have met her a lot over the years, but (as we don’t play in bars much anymore) hadn’t seen her in four or five years. She was always great craic when we met her in the bar, so it was lovely for her and Sam to ask us to play at their wedding!
