Our never ending series of weird blog titles continue! This one was inspired by last night’s bridal party. We quite often call the bridal party half way through the first dance, as more and more couples prefer that nowadays. Normally they come to the floor and the bridesmaids dance with the guys in the bridal party. However, last night they all came on and formed a circle with Nicola and Declan (the bride and groom), and everybody danced with their arms around each others shoulders! Nicole & Matthew’s Wedding
We were back on the road again last night after a week off! Thanks to Nicole and Matthew for inviting us along to the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan to play a few tunes at their wedding reception. The hotel were running pretty much on schedule, and had the stage cleared in a flash for us to setup! We can never figure out why some venues clear the dance floor first, and then the stage area – no worries with the Four Seasons though…)

Friday the 13th and we were back in Monaghan town! We finished our week in Monaghan town on Saturday night, as we were playing at Oonagh and Stephen’s wedding in the Four Seasons Hotel. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple to end the week with, so thanks to both of them for booking us play a few tunes at their big day. We played our second of this week’s weddings in the beautiful Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel in Enniskillen last night. Thanks to Tina and Damien for inviting us along. The Killy is one of the few venues with a curtained off stage, so we were able to setup while the meal and speeches were finishing. This obviously helps speed things up if proceedings are running late. However, the hotel had everything running bang on time anyway, as the room was turned round ahead of schedule…

We made our debut last night in the Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross at Angela and Gerard’s wedding – thanks to both of them for inviting us along to play a few songs. It was our first time there, but we couldn’t have been made feel more welcome as Ann (the duty manager) was offering us tea, coffee, plus dinner and dessert as the wedding was running slightly behind schedule! It’s a beautiful venue, and has stunning grounds – plus there’s a fantastic view of their lake from the function room – well worth checking out if you’re looking for a wedding venue in the Monaghan area…

Leona & Senan’s Wedding
We had our first Sunday wedding in a while in the beautiful Castle Leslie in Glaslough, County Monaghan last night – thanks to Leona and Senan for inviting us along. We’ve had numerous enquiries for this place over the years, but were either already booked, or (if we were free) obviously not what the particular couples were looking for! Anyway, it was great to finally to get to play in the place, and it is a stunning venue. Very rustic, full of character, and extremely authentic – there’s not many castles of this size that haven’t had their interior tweaked to suit modern requirements. This one hasn’t, as we were playing in an large living room! (they also have an adjoining marquee for larger crowds) If castles are your thing, then you definitely check this place out…
