Abby & Martin’s Wedding

Abby and Martin had designed a really cool and different wedding cake, so once we saw that our blog title was sorted! As you can see below, it was made from Tunnock’s Teacakes and Caramel Wafers, plus it has a giant teacake on top!  What a great idea!  We had to crop the pic for our header, so as you couldn’t see the cake in all it’s glory we would, put the full pic in here too…

Corrinne & Leo’s Wedding

Leo inspired this blog title, as he’s from Germany and a big Rammstein fan! (although, we think Corinne is also a big fan!)  For the non metal fans reading, Rammstein are Germany’s biggest metal band, and Du Hast is probably their biggest hit.  They had asked us to play a couple of Rammstein tunes in the disco, and Du Hast in particular went down a storm…

Nadine & Steven’s Wedding

We were back on the road again last night, and had three guest singers up with us!  We had Steven’s Dad Jeffrey up to sing a great version of Stop the World, and also had one of the bridesmaids Crystal up to sing a stormin’ version of Mustang Sally!  However, we had another guy up (we didn’t get his name) to sing some of the Gambler: he wasn’t exactly sober, so points went to him for the most ‘entertaining’ version! lol  Anyway, good on him, as The Gambler lyrics inspired this blog title and pic…

Jenny & Stuart’s Wedding

Back on the road again last night, and Jenny and Stuart’s choice of venue inspired our blog title this time.  They had chosen the fantastic Belmont House in Banbridge for their wedding reception.  We knew that we hadn’t played there in ages: however after checking, we found out that it’s been nearly ten years!  We last played there in January 2010!  The place has went under some great changes since we were last there, and looks amazing!  So, thanks to Jenny and Stuart for inviting us along…

Michelle & Gary’s Wedding

We were back on the road again on Saturday night, and headed down to Newry to play at Michelle and Gary’s wedding reception.  They had picked the fantastic Flagstaff Lodge as their venue: which is a great place, with fantastic service and really friendly staff.  It’s set on the hillside, just on the outskirts of Newry; so has some beautiful views as well…

Laura & Lee’s Wedding

We were back on the road again last night, and made our way down to Newcastle: it’s a bit of a spin, but it’s a lovely town to play in!  Thanks to Laura and Lee for inviting us along to play at their wedding reception in Hugh McCann’s.  We’ve played in the venue plenty of times, but it was our first time playing upstairs in The Loft Suite, which is stunning!  It really is a great room for small to medium size crowds, and has a great atmosphere – plus fantastic views of The Mournes and Dundrum Bay!

Bronagh & Darragh’s Wedding

Friday night, and Bronagh and Darragh had invited us to join them and their guests at their wedding reception in the Canal Court Hotel in Newry.  Gemma and the staff had the room looking great, and it’s amazing how much a suite of new luxury chairs has made to the look of the room!  It always looked good anyway, it’s just a nice finishing touch…

Amy & David’s Wedding

We had a bit of a quieter schedule last week, and were just playing on Saturday at Amy and David’s wedding – thanks to both of them for inviting us along.  We were playing in the Clanrye suite in the Canal Court hotel, and it was looking great!  Things were running slightly behind when we arrived, but we didn’t complain as it meant we could load our equipment at a nice leisurely pace, and not rush like usual…

Niamh & John’s Wedding

We were back in the Whistledown Hotel in Warrenpoint last night – it’s the first time we’ve been there in ages!  Thanks to Niamh and John for inviting us along to play a few tunes at their wedding reception!  We hit rain on the way down to Warrenpoint, and thought the weather was going to be crap when we got there!  Thankfully it was still dry and sunny, so Niamh and John hit it lucky!  The Whistledown never stand still, and the beautiful function room has been freshened up again!  It didn’t need it, but it looks great…

Diane & Mark’s Wedding

We were back in the stunning Slieve Donard Resort and Spa in Newcastle on Saturday night – what a stunning venue!  Thanks to Diane and Mark for inviting us along to join in the celebrations.  We were playing in the beautiful Grand Ballroom, which makes a change as we’ve been playing in the Chandelier Room (which is really nice too!) the past few times that we’ve been there.  The Grand Ballroom is a massive, plus there is a backstage area with dressing rooms, which makes a great change for us…

We were back in the amazing Culloden Estate and Spa in Holywood last night at Louise and Alan’s wedding. Cheers guys, thanks for inviting us along to play a few tunes. We were playing in the Stuart Suite, which is stunning and massive! With the exception of the full Clock Tower suite in the Tullyglass Hotel, it’s one of the biggest rooms that we’ve played in. However, it was looking great, and dressed to perfection…

Kirstie & Ciaran’s Wedding

We were back in the beautiful Millbrook Lodge Hotel in Ballynahinch last night – thanks to Kirstie and Ciaran for inviting us along to play at their wedding. We ran into a familiar face, as we know the Millbrook’s new duty manager Gemma. We’ve met her in other venues, and she really is great at looking after the couples, and brings a really nice personal touch to the day’s proceedings. Asides from Gemma’s flair, the Millbrook are planning a lot of amazing things by expanding the venue, and by the time they’re finished there will be no wedding venue in the area to match it! Well worth checking out now before the price goes up! lol…

We started our week last night playing at Stacey and Peter’s wedding in the fantastic Old Inn in Crawfordsburn – thanks to both of them for booking us. It’s a couple of years since we last played in the Old Inn, and it’s underwent a massive transformation since we were last there! That’s it above, and as you can see it looks fantastic…
