Kelly & Aidan’s Wedding

We officially had our oldest ever dancer on Saturday night!  We had a few ideas for this blog title, but when we saw this guy dancing we couldn’t have chosen any other title!  The person in question was Kelly’s Grandad Jim Bob, and he was 100 on the 16th of June this year.  That in itself is a remarkable achievement, but to see him out dancing was amazing: and also very inspiring!  So, congrats Jim Bob, here’s to many more years…

Nadine & Steven’s Wedding

We were back on the road again last night, and had three guest singers up with us!  We had Steven’s Dad Jeffrey up to sing a great version of Stop the World, and also had one of the bridesmaids Crystal up to sing a stormin’ version of Mustang Sally!  However, we had another guy up (we didn’t get his name) to sing some of the Gambler: he wasn’t exactly sober, so points went to him for the most ‘entertaining’ version! lol  Anyway, good on him, as The Gambler lyrics inspired this blog title and pic…

Elaine & Dick’s Wedding

We were back on the road last night at Elaine and Dick’s wedding, and their choice of first dance inspired this blog title.  Elaine is a big Fleetwood Mac, and they had chosen the beautiful Songbird as their first dance.  Well, maybe we should say Elaine chose it, and Dick had no choice! lol  Either way, it sorted our blog title…

Rachel & Graham’s Wedding

We were playing at Rachel and Graham’s wedding on Saturday night, and they had invited a couple of VIP guests!  We had two high profile politicians in attendance, however we won’t name them, as we’re guessing they would rather us respect their privacy.  It sorted our blog title for us though, so all’s good…

Sinead & Minty’s Wedding

We finished our week in the beautiful Parkanaur Manor, which is just outside Castlecaulfied in grounds of Parkanaur forest.  We haven’t played there in ages, so that was the inspiration for this blog title.  The place was looking as stunning as we remembered, and the weather was great, allowing for a barbecue outside in the grounds…

Jenny & Stuart’s Wedding

Back on the road again last night, and Jenny and Stuart’s choice of venue inspired our blog title this time.  They had chosen the fantastic Belmont House in Banbridge for their wedding reception.  We knew that we hadn’t played there in ages: however after checking, we found out that it’s been nearly ten years!  We last played there in January 2010!  The place has went under some great changes since we were last there, and looks amazing!  So, thanks to Jenny and Stuart for inviting us along…

Nicola & Declan’s Wedding

Our never ending series of weird blog titles continue!  This one was inspired by last night’s bridal party.  We quite often call the bridal party half way through the first dance, as more and more couples prefer that nowadays.  Normally they come to the floor and the bridesmaids dance with the guys in the bridal party.  However, last night they all came on and formed a circle with Nicola and Declan (the bride and groom), and everybody danced with their arms around each others shoulders!  Maybe we’re getting soppy in our old age, but it was really lovely to watch…

Tracey & Darrell’s Wedding

As most people know, last week was a massive sporting week for Ireland, with The Open being held in Portrush!  We heard there were tens of thousands of tourists coming for the event, but didn’t expect to see any staying as far away as Letterkenny!  We met a bus in the hotel car park, so that was our blog title inspiration sorted…

Cheryl & Barrie’s Wedding

One of the Scottish guests at last night’s wedding inspired this blog title and pic.  He came over and asked us to play The Clash’s Should I Stay or Should I Go.  It’s a long time since we’ve been asked for that, so that grabbed our attention.  We couldn’t get a decent royalty free pic of The Clash, so a tribute to classic hit London Calling was the best we could do…

Jacqueline & Calum’s Wedding

Jacqueline and Calum’s fantastic choice of first dance inspired this blog title!  They picked the brilliant acoustic version of Guns n Roses’ Sweet Child O Mine that is performed by Slash and the amazing Myles Kennedy on vocals.  What a great choice, and a great way to kick the night off…
