Grainne & Sean’s Wedding
We were back on the road for the first time in three weeks last night, and it felt like three months! January must be getting to us, as we couldn’t think of one of our usual weird blog titles! lol So, we had to just go with a predictable one for a change!
Grainne and Sean had picked the absolutely stunning Clonabreany House (near Kells in County Meath) for their wedding reception. It was our first time playing there, and it didn’t disappoint! It’s always great to see a new venue, especially one as nice as Clonabreany House! The have a state of the art marquee attached to the house: it was dressed to perfection, and connected through to a stunning bar area in the house. Definitely a great choice of a venue!
We kicked things off with our version of Kodaline’s The One for Grainne and Sean’s first dance, and then got the bridal party on to join them half way through. We opened the floor after that, and it quickly filled! We lost quite a few of our dancers shortly after to the bar area in the house, which can be a challenge at times! However, we changed tactics as usual, and got them back in for a few jives. Then somebody asked for Belter, and that got the craic going! We still had a wee bit of a fight with the bar until the buffet, however once the dance tunes came on in the disco that was the floor full. It stayed full right until the end of the night when we hit the stage again until our last song! :)
Thanks again to Grainne and Sean for booking us to play at their wedding. It was such a great way to kick off our year, and lovely to meet them both. Plus, as Sean’s from Randalstown (the Corner House bar was our home from home when we used to play the bar scene!), we were chatting to loads of people that we knew throughout the night! There’s even chat about having us back in the Corner House for a one off night for a bit of craic! We’ll sign off by wishing Grainne and Sean well on their honeymoon. They’re going to the stunning Carlton House in Kildare (below) for a few days, which looks amazing! Have a great time guys!
