Second wedding of the week last night, and we were back in the stunning Lough Erne Resort.  It was Lauren and Conor’s big day, and their choice of disco inspired this blog title!  They had a chosen a DJ and Sax combo for their disco, which is the first time we’ve seen that at a wedding.  In fairness it sounded great, and Anton was great on the saxophone!

As mentioned, Lauren and Conor picked the Lough Erne Resort for their wedding reception, and the place was looking amazing as usual.  Add to that the lovely festive decorations inside and out, and it really was the dream Christmas wedding venue!  They also had sparklers and fantastic fireworks display for their guests, which was a great distraction while we were setting up!

We kicked things off with our version of Fairytale of New York for Lauren and Conor’s first dance, and got the bridal party to join them halfway through.  The crowd didn’t need much convincing to join them all for the next song!  They had picked Brown Eyed Girl for their second song, and it filled the floor.  We kept our dancers for a while, and then lost a lot of them for a few songs.  Proud Mary worked it’s usual magic, and got them back, and that kept the dance floor busy again. We finished with a massive crowd on the floor for our last song!  We then handed the reigns over to the DJ / Sax combo, who had the place buzzing when we were leaving!

Thanks again to Lauren and Conor for booking us to play at their wedding reception.  It was great to meet them both, and great that Conor took our slagging so well!  We wound him up that we were going to play Westlife for their first dance, as that was Lauren’s choice before she ‘compromised’ with Fairytale! lol  We were rushing about that much at the end, trying to make room for the DJ, that we forgot to ask where they’re going on honeymoon, so no honeymoon pic!  Wherever you guys have a great time!
