Julie-Ann & Dan’s Wedding
We had our third and final of last week’s weddings on Saturday evening, and one of the guests inspired this blog title. We always ask for requests, and he came over looking some of The Rolling Stones. So, we happily played our version of Honky Tonk Women – which we love playing! In fairness to him he danced, and really seemed to enjoy the song. Then he came over at the end saying that it was a great version, and Keef would be proud! That made our night to get such a great compliment, so that was the blog title sorted! :)
It was Julie-Ann and Dan’s big day, and they had picked the deceivingly brilliant Valley Hotel in Fivemiletown for their wedding reception. We say deceiving because if you drive past the hotel in the Main Street, it looks like a small venue. However, they have massive function room out the back, which is stunning. It’s definitely a bit of a hidden gem!
We kicked things off with Tom Walker’s beautiful You and I for Julie-Ann and Dan’s first dance, and then got the bridal party to join them half way through. After that we started with our version of George Ezra’s Paradise, which went down a storm and filled the floor! :) We were lucky to finish the week with yet another great crowd, and we had them dancing all night with everything from Declan Nerney to Queen to Dance Monkey!
Thanks again to Julie-Ann and Dan for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them, and hear all about how well their day went. Finally, we’d like to wish them well on their honeymoon travels. They’re going to Mexico, which should be fantastic, and definitely a bit warmer than here! Have a great time guys!
