Bernie and Stephen’s choice of first dance last night inspired this blog title. They picked The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love, but what made it stick in our minds was that they picked Janet Devlin’s beautiful cover of it!  It’s the first time we’ve heard her interpretation, and it’s such a brilliant version – well worth checking out if you haven’t heard it!

Bernie and Stephen had picked the fantastic Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena for their wedding reception, which is always a great choice!  They had chosen the massive Clock Tower Suite (shown in the pic above), which always looks fantastic.  Frankie and the staff weren’t long clearing the stage for us once the meal was finished, and we only had to wait about half an hour before we could get in: so that wasn’t too bad! :)

We got the bridal party to join Bernie and Stephen on the floor half way through the first song.  Bernie had asked us to play Shut Up and Dance after that, but it didn’t get us many dancers!  She also had Derek Ryan on the list, so we tried that next, which was a great choice!  We played Pick A Bale of Cotton, and it filled the floor!  After that they were up and down all night, and especially loved Belter and Discoland during the disco!  We hit the stage again for the last half hour as usual, and ended with our version of Green Day’s Time Of Our Life.  It was also on Bernie’s request list, and went down a storm!

Thanks again to Bernie and Stephen for booking us for their wedding.  It was lovely to meet them both, and we had a great chat with them before we started.  We’d love to sign off by wishing them on their honeymoon travels to Cancun.  Unfortunately they were a victim of Thomas Cook, and their holiday has been cancelled! :( Hopefully they get something else sorted soon!
