We were back on the road last night at Elaine and Dick’s wedding, and their choice of first dance inspired this blog title.  Elaine is a big Fleetwood Mac, and they had chosen the beautiful Songbird as their first dance.  Well, maybe we should say Elaine chose it, and Dick had no choice! lol  Either way, it sorted our blog title! :)

Elaine and Dick had picked the beautiful Tullylagan Country House Hotel as their wedding.  It’s less than a week since we were there, and Crystal and the rest of the staff had the place looking every bit as good as last week! :)

As mentioned above, we kicked things off with Songbird for Elaine and Dick’s first dance, and then invited the bridal party and everyone else to join them half way through.  We sped things up straight away with the Hills of Donegal as a special request for Dick, and brought loads of dancers to the floor! :)  We didn’t keep it country all night, and mixed it up as usual.  We even got in one of our favourites that we hadn’t played in ages: The Rolling Stones’ Honky Tonk Women!  Somebody shouted up looking for The Stones, and we were only too happy to oblige!  Loads of wedding classics followed in the disco, and then we changed the pace when we hit the stage at the end of the night with some Mumford, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, etc.  We ended with a massive crowd on the floor, and finished the night with some Oasis.

Thanks again to Elaine and Dick for booking us for their wedding.  It was great to meet them again, as we had met them when we played at their friends’ Laura and Gary’s wedding last year in the Manor House in Kiladeas.  As always, we like to finish by wishing our couples well on honeymoon.  Elaine and Dick have pulled out all the stops, and are going on a trip of a lifetime!  They’re going to Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore in November.  WOW!  That’s how to do it, have a great time guys!
