Sinead & Minty’s Wedding

We finished our week in the beautiful Parkanaur Manor, which is just outside Castlecaulfied in grounds of Parkanaur forest.  We haven’t played there in ages, so that was the inspiration for this blog title.  The place was looking as stunning as we remembered, and the weather was great, allowing for a barbecue outside in the grounds!

Sinead and Minty made a great choice with their venue, as the hit it lucky with the weather and everyone could appreciate the beautiful grounds.  Thanks to Sinead and Minty for inviting us along to play at their wedding party.  It was bit more special than most weddings for me, as Minty is a good friend of mine, so it was lovely to be able to help them both enjoy their night! 🙂

We kicked things off with Lady Ga Ga and Bradley Cooper’s brilliant song for their first dance, and got the bridal party to join them half way through.  We sped things up straight away and floor filled!  We knew it would anyway! 🙂  There were loads of familiar faces, and we knew they were a bit of a mad bunch!  The craic was great all night, as was the atmosphere!  We even had three guest singers up, including Al who did a ‘different’ version of Mustang Sally! lol  We also had best man Colm bust his trousers, which definitely added to the craic!

Thanks again to Sinead and Minty for booking us to play at their wedding party.  It was great to catch up with them, and a lot of other people that we hadn’t seen in ages.  We’ve also played at Sinead’s brother Eoin’s wedding, and Minty’s brother Gavin’s wedding.  Gavin is a great singer, and had recorded a fantastic version of butterfly kisses to be played for the father / daughter with Minty and his daughter.

As mentioned it was a wedding party, not a wedding reception.  They had already got married in Alicante a few weeks ago, and that was the honeymoon sorted too.  They were telling us they had a great time, so no need to wish them well on their honeymoon!
