Nicola & Declan’s Wedding
Our never ending series of weird blog titles continue! This one was inspired by last night’s bridal party. We quite often call the bridal party half way through the first dance, as more and more couples prefer that nowadays. Normally they come to the floor and the bridesmaids dance with the guys in the bridal party. However, last night they all came on and formed a circle with Nicola and Declan (the bride and groom), and everybody danced with their arms around each others shoulders! Maybe we’re getting soppy in our old age, but it was really lovely to watch! 🙂
Thanks to Nicola and Declan for inviting us along to their wedding in the absolutely stunning Castle Leslie! It’s a while since we’ve played there, but we’ve played with such amazing weather! It just gave everybody the opportunity to appreciate the stunning grounds as well as the castle – what an amazing evening!
We kicked things off with Take That’s Greatest Day for Nicola and Declan’s first dance, and then got the bridal party to join them (as mentioned above). After that, as per Declan’s request, we sped things up with our version of George Ezra’s Paradise, which instantly filled the floor! We’re not sure if these guests realised that it was a Tuesday, because they partied like it was the weekend! It was great to see, and also great to see how many were still left for our last song at the end of the night! 🙂
Thanks again to Nicola and Declan for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them both, and have a good chat about their day. We also chatted loads to Declan’s best man (and brother) Niall, who was full of the craic! It was also nice that we had already played at Declan’s sister Imelda’s wedding too! Finally, we’ll sign off by wishing them well on their honeymoon to the stunning Santorini! What a gorgeous place – have a great time guys!
