Tracey & Darrell’s Wedding
As most people know, last week was a massive sporting week for Ireland, with The Open being held in Portrush! We heard there were tens of thousands of tourists coming for the event, but didn’t expect to see any staying as far away as Letterkenny! We met a bus in the hotel car park, so that was our blog title inspiration sorted!
Thanks to Tracey and Darrell for inviting us along to spend the evening with them and their guests in the brilliant Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny. The hotel has went through some refurbishments in recent years, and is looking better than ever!
We started off with Bret Young’s beautiful In Case You Didn’t Know for Tracey and Darrell’s first dance, and then we got the bridal party to join them half way. As the first dance was a country song, we started off with a few jives, which quickly got the crowd on the floor! It wasn’t jiving all night though, and they danced to everything we threw at them. It was great to see such a great crowd left when we hit the stage at 1:30 to finish the night: sometimes the Northern crowds can start to filter off around 1 in the Southern venues. We kept the place buzzing right through until 2am! 🙂
Thanks again to Tracey and Darrell for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them both. We had a good chat with them when we arrived, and found out that Darrell actually works in Cookstown. They have two honeymoons to look forward to! They’re going to Berlin this week, and then are planning a longer holiday to the States later in the year. Definitely great to have a second trip to look forward to: have a great time guys!
