Orlagh & Kevin’s Wedding
There’s a bit of a rally theme for this post! We were chatting to Orlagh’s stepdad Raymond when we arrived, and he was full of the craic! Amongst the banter, he was telling us that he was a big rally fan, and that he actually used to be a navigator! Cheers Raymond, that sorted our typically unusual blog title!
Thanks to Orlagh and Kevin for inviting us along to play at their wedding in the fantastic Four Seasons in Monaghan. They had invited an intimate crowd, and it was great to see the venue partition the room off. It made a massive difference to the atmosphere!
We kicked things off with Rascal Flatt’s Bless the Broken Road for Orlagh and Kevin’s first dance, and then invited the bridal party to join them for Extreme’s More Than Words (which is a personal favourite of ours!). We sped things up with a couple of 70s singalongs, and the crowd weren’t long making their way to the dance floor. We changed to a couple of 80s tunes and got more dancers, and then tried some jives which kept the floor buzzing. The disco was varied as well, but as usual the dance classics went down a storm!
Thanks again to Orlagh and Kevin for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them both, and hear all about their day. Kevin mentioned that he was up from around 5am, so fair play to him for lasting the distance! We’ll sign off by wishing them well on their honeymoon: they’re going to Krakow in Poland, which should be amazing! Have a great time guys!
