Gemma & Ryan’s Wedding

We kicked our week off last night in the spectacular Edenmore Golf and Country club just outside Magheralin.  Thanks to Gemma and Ryan for inviting us along to play a few tunes at their wedding reception.  If you’ve never been to Edenmore, it really is a stunning golf club, and the club house is equally stunning inside!  Well worth checking out if you’re thinking of having your wedding reception the Armagh or Down area.

Now and again we just have to go with a predictable blog title, just to be unpredictable! lol  So, we thought we would be predictable and keep the golf theme going!

We kicked things off with Donna Lewis’ beautiful I Love You Always Forever for Gemma and Ryan’s first dance, and got the bridal party to join them halfway through.  After that, Gemma asked us to open the floor and play our version of George Ezra’s Paradise.  That got a few dancers, but the modern tunes weren’t working that well, and things didn’t really get going until somebody shouted up AC/DC!  We played Shook Me All Night Long and the floor filled, and we kept them rocking as long as they kept dancing, and even threw in Metallica’s Enter Sandman at Ryan’s request!

The disco started off with quite a change, as we’d been asked to play quite a few club classics, which stuffed the dance floor!  The crowd were loving it, and we really were wondering if it was a Thursday night as they were going totally mad on the dance floor!  We changed it up a few times, but the floor was buzzing right through until the last song! 🙂  Although, it buzzed quite a bit when we hit the stage again at the end of the night, as Gemma got up with us and sang two songs!  She sounded absolutely fantastic, and the crowd loved every minute of it!

Thanks again to Gemma and Ryan for booking us to play at their wedding.  We’d already met them at their friend’s wedding a couple of years ago (when Gemma sang the first dance!), so it was great to meet them again.  We were chatting to them at the end of the night, and they were both telling us how great a night they had: which was lovely to hear.  However, we forgot to ask where they’re going on honeymoon.  Oops!  Hopefully they get away somewhere nice!
