We had our first of a run of five weddings in the upcoming week last night.  Thanks to Trish and Emmet for inviting us along to the fantastic Greenvale Hotel to play some tunes at their big day.  Besides the fact that it’s close to home for both of us, we always love to play in the Greenvale because it’s a great wedding venue, and always looks great!  Plus, it has a fantastic buffet too! yum! lol

Trish and Emmet inspired this blog title, as they chose Dan Hill’s beautiful song Sometimes When We Touch for their first dance.  We hadn’t heard that song in years, and forgot how great a song it is!

We kicked things off by getting the crowd in a circle around the dance floor: then invited Trish and Emmet to do their first dance, and got the bridal party to join them halfway through.  Trish had asked us to play Don’t Stop Believing next, which went down great and filled the floor!  We lost a some of the crowd after a few songs, but thankfully quickly got them back.  We weren’t doing the disco, so really wanted to get the crowd warmed up for DJ Connor (who was starting after the buffet).  We definitely got them warmed up!  The place was bouncing right through until our last song, and then we handed the reigns over to Connor!

Thanks again to Trish and Emmet for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them both: however with all the rushing about to get our equipment out of the way for DJ Connor, we forgot to ask them where they’re going on honeymoon!  Hopefully they’ll get away somewhere nice! :)
