The Gambler!

Julie & Connor’s Wedding

We were back up on the beautiful North Donegal coast last night: it’s a long drive, but worth it for the scenery!  Thanks to Julie and Connor for inviting us along to their reception in the stunning Ballyliffin Lodge.  They had a invited a capacity crowd, so the room was full: however, it looked great, and was laid out to perfection!

Julie inspired this blog title, although not because she has a gambling problem! lol  We started to play The Gambler and before we knew what was happening Julie was on stage with us and had the mic! lol  However, she sang a great version of the song, and the crowd loved it – she got the biggest cheer of the night!

We kicked things off earlier in the night with our version of Kodaline’s The One for Julie and Connor’s first dance, and got the bridal party to join them half way through.  Julie and Connor had both asked us play a good few jives early, so we sped things up with Pick a Bale of Cotton, which filled the dance floor!  The crowd definitely loved to jive, although we got them dancing to bit of everything regardless. Connor’s Dad loved Status Quo, so we got a couple of Quo tunes on for him during the night: which he loved.  They were definitely a great crowd, and the floor never emptied until our last song! 🙂

Thanks again to Julie and Connor for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet both of them, although we realised when we got there that Brendan already knew Connor!  We’ll sign off by wishing them well on their honeymoons!  Yes honeymoons!  They’re going on a short break to Albufeira, and then are going on African Safari in September!  That’s how to do it: have a great time guys!
