Even though we only live a few miles from it, we made our debut in the stunning Lissan House (just outside Cookstown) on Saturday evening!  Thanks to Hayley and Jamie for inviting us along to play a few tunes at their wedding reception.  The house is beautiful, and full of character.  It was also the perfect size for the crowd in attendance, which really added to the atmosphere!

Hayley and Jamie inspired this blog title, as they had a beautifully restored Morris Minor to bring them to the venue.  That’s actually it above!  When we seen it, we couldn’t resist getting a pic, plus that sorted the blog title too!

As mentioned, this was our first time playing in Lissan House, and we were a bit apprehensive when we saw that the bar was quite a bit away from the room that we were playing in!  That can quite often ruin a night, as people can congregate around the bar:  however, we had no need to worry, as the crowd were there to party!  We kicked things off with a capacity crowd to watch Hayley and Jamie’s first dance.  After that we sped things up with The Galway Girl (a special request for Hayley), and the floor filled.  That was job done, as it never emptied for the rest of the night! :) We were able to play a great mix of tunes, and even got some Pendulum and The Prodigy for Jamie in the disco!

Thanks again to Hayley and Jamie for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them both, and hear how well all their wedding plans had went.  Also, it was lovely of Hayley’s Dad to come over to us at the end of the night and tell us it was the best wedding reception that he’d ever been at!  We’ll sign off by wishing Hayley and Jamie well on their honeymoon travels.  They’re not travelling until later in the year, but are planning on going to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia!  Sounds amazing, have a great time guys!
