Marlene & Eric’s Wedding
We were back in the stunning Orange Tree House playing at Marlene and Eric’s wedding reception on Saturday evening. The Orange Tree House is situated on the shore of Strangford Lough, and has stunning views – plus it’s a gorgeous venue too! If you’re thinking of getting married in the County Down area, then take a drive to Greyabbey and check this place out!
Thanks to Marlene and Eric for inspiring this title, however it’s maybe not what you are thinking! No, it’s nothing to do with George Ezra’s song! Instead, it’s a reference to the beautiful song that Christina Aguilera sang with the cast of Nashville! Marlene and Eric picked this for their first dance – it was a our first time hearing it, but it really is a beautiful song!
We sped things up after that, and started with The Galway Girl as a special request for Marlene. We didn’t get a full floor of dancers, but amongst the dancers we had was Marlene and Eric’s youngest daughter Hayley who was dancing her heart out! As she was dancing so well, we played Wagon Wheel for her next – which she loved! She danced for every song right up until the buffet! She had to go to bed shortly after that, so that put an end to her dancing! We got through a real mixture of tunes during the night – everything from country classics to Roy Orbison to George Ezra!
Thanks again to Marlene and Eric for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them both, as well as their lovely two daughters as well! They’re not going on honeymoon until next year, but are hopefully to get away somewhere exotic like Mauritius! Have a great time wherever you end up guys!
