Karen & Dee’s Wedding

We started our week off in the beautiful Corick House Hotel and Spa at Karen and Dee’s wedding reception last night.  Thanks to both of them for inviting us along on a Thursday night!  There was no waiting around when we arrived, as Cheryl and the rest of the staff had the meal finished and the stage area cleared for us!

Yet another cryptic blog title!  Karen inspired this one, as she asked us to play the Traveling Wilburys ‘End of the Line’.  We can’t remember anybody asking us to play a Travelling Wilburys song before, which is strange when it’s a band with such an iconic lineup!  For those of you that don’t know, the band consisted of George Harrison, Baby Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne – what a lineup!

We kicked things off with our version of Kodaline’s The One for Karen and Dee’s first dance, and for a change there was no bridal party invited to join them – they kept the song all to themselves! lol  After that we sped things up, and got a good few dancers up to join Karen and Dee on the floor.  However, once they left the floor quite a few followed, and once again the bar seemed to be calling louder than us! lol  So, we had a bit of a quiet spell on the floor for a while, but we kept changing tactics and gradually got our dancers back to a few rock n roll tunes!  The place was bouncing to all the club classics during the disco, and we had to play Bits and Pieces twice!

Thanks again to Karen and Dee for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them, and we were glad to hear that Dee’s speech went well!  Finally, we’d like to wish them well on their honeymoon travels.  They’re going to Lanzarote, which is just stunning!  Have a great time guys!
