Rebecca & Gerard’s Wedding

We finished our week on Saturday night at the fantastic Tullyglass Hotel – thanks to Rebecca and Gerard for inviting us along to join in the celebrations.  We were in the Clock Tower suite, which was looking great as always.  The ever efficient Tullyglass staff were on the ball, as the stage was cleared just as we started loading into the room!  No waiting round, which was great! 🙂

So, yet another unusual blog title!  I was the inspiration for this one!  I was feeling really sick before we were due to start, and poor Brendan wasn’t sure if I’d be able to play! 🙁  However, there was a short delay at the start while I got myself brought round, but thankfully I didn’t need a doctor, and we got the the first dance started.  Unfortunately for me, I had to leave the stage again for a couple of songs before the buffet! 🙁  Thankfully, I wasn’t too bad for the rest of the night – the show must go on!

We kicked things off with our version of Ed Sheeran’s Perfect for Rebecca and Gerard’s first dance.  We didn’t even have to invite the bridal party to join them, as they knew their cue and went onto the dance floor bang on time!  We had a bit of deja vu from Friday night, as the floor filled once we sped things up!  It stayed that way for quite a few songs, but once Rebecca and Gerard left the floor, then so did their dancers! 🙁  However, that happens all the time, so we just kept changing tactics until we got the crowd dancing again!  Thankfully I was feeling well enough to go back on stage for the last few songs, and we wrapped things up with a great crowd on the floor, and finished the night with Mumford and Son ‘I will wait’, which went down great! 🙂

Thanks again to Rebecca and Gerard for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them both, unfortunately I didn’t get chatting to them as I wasn’t in an overly talkative mood! 🙁  However, Brendan did and said they were in great form!  We’ll sign off by wishing them well on their honeymoon travels.  They’re going to Cancun, which should be brilliant!  Have a great time guys!
