We were back out again last night, but didn’t have to travel too far as we were in Cookstown! :)  Thanks to Helen and Neil for inviting us along to play a few tunes at their wedding reception in the Greenvale Hotel.  You can always rely on the Greenvale to be running on time, and last night was no exception as Mickey had everything running bang on schedule!  The room was looking great too, it’s no wonder it’s Cookstown’s most popular wedding venue!

Apologies for having a predictable title for this post! lol  It’s definitely not our normal weird type of one, but we threw the motorbike in the pic just change it up a bit!  We literally are only a few miles up the road from the Greenvale, so what other title could we use?

We kicked off the night with Ben Rector’s beautiful song ‘Love Like This’ for Helen and Neil’s first dance, then got the bridal party on the floor to join them halfway.  After that we opened the floor, but it took a few songs to suss the crowd out.  However, it didn’t take that long, and we got them dancing well the the old classics and the rock n roll tunes.  Things went up several notches during the disco once Tiesto was played!  There had been a few requests for some Tiesto, and the crowd loved it!  They loved the dance tunes that much that we just kept them going until the end of the night, and didn’t round things off as normal with the band.  Sometimes we make that call if we feel the disco songs will work better, and hopefully we made the right call last night!

Thanks again to Helen and Neil for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them both, and a nice change to only drive up the road to work! lol  We’ll sign off by wishing them well on their travels.  They’re going down South with their daughter for a few days, and then are hoping to head somewhere further afield later in the year.  Wherever you go guys, have a great time!
