Ciara & Rory’s Wedding
We made our debut in the beautiful Kilmore Country House on Saturday night. We were playing at Ciara and Rory’s wedding reception, so thanks to both of them for inviting us along. The house and grounds are set in the stunning Glenariffe Glen, and the views of the glen, mountains and ocean as you drive to the venue are amazing!
The venue inspired this unusual blog title! It’s maybe a bit of stretch (but then again, most of our titles are! lol), but they had a really cool checkerboard dance floor. It’s the first time we’ve seen one, so it’s a bit like a chess board! Maybe we’re losing the plot with these deliberately weird titles!?
We kicked things off with our version of Kodaline’s ‘The One’ for Ciara and Rory’s first dance, and the bridal party quickly joined them. One of the kids had been chatting to us while we were setting up, so we promised him we’d play a Derek Ryan song. We sped things up with Bale of Cotton, but didn’t get that many dancers! 🙁 It took us a while longer than normal to get the crowd sussed, however we never give up! So, as usual our perseverance paid off, and once we got them, we had the place bouncing right through until the last song!
Thanks again to Ciara and Rory for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet them both, and have a chat about how their day went. Finally, we’d like to sign off by wishing them well on their fantastic honeymoon. They’re going to Santorini in Greece – as you can see by the pic below, it looks amazing! Have a great time guys!
