Megan & Ryan’s Wedding

We were back in wedding mode again last night, after Saturday’s great dinner dance!  Thanks to Megan and Ryan for inviting us along to play a few tunes at their wedding in the beautiful Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena.  We were in the massive Clock Tower Suite, which was looking great as ever.  Gus was telling us that the Kensington Suite is going through a massive renovation, which should be finished in the next few months.  So, we’ll be looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

We were stumped for a blog title for a while!  However, we remembered that Megan had asked us to play ‘The Town I Loved So Well’, which we haven’t played in years!  We forgot a nice a tune it was!  So, we found this nice pic of the Peace Bridge in Derry, and thought that it looked good at the top of this post!

We kicked things off with Jason Mraz’s ‘I Won’t Give Up’ for Megan and Ryan’s first dance.  What a great song!  Next up we invited Megan’s Dad Jim to the dance floor, and they had their father/daughter dance.  We sped things up after that, and got a few dancers.  However, it took about half an hour to get things properly livened up.  Once we played Proud Mary, the floor filled!  We had loads of requests to get through during the night, and kept the craic going right through until we finished at 1am.

Thanks again to Megan and Ryan for booking us to play at their wedding.  It was great to meet them both, and find out how their day went.  Thankfully Ryan’s speech went well, so he was relieved to get that out of the way!  Finally, we’d like to wish them well on their honeymoon break.  They’re going to Galway for a few days to chill out which should be great!  Have a great time guys!
