Josephine & Brian’s Wedding
We played at our last wedding of the year last night! We were back in the beautiful Slieve Russell Hotel in County Cavan, which is always a lovely place to play in. It was Josephine and Brian’s wedding, so thanks to both of them for inviting us along. The hotel was looking great, and the staff were really friendly as usual – it’s definitely one of the friendliest venues that we play in! They also leave loads of buffet food on the stage for us, so extra brownie points for that! lol
This blog title was inspired by both Josephine, plus her and Brian’s choice of first dance! They had asked us to play our version of Mumford and Sons’ I Will Wait for the first dance, plus when were chatting to Josephine she told us that she was a minute early for the Chapel – so, that was our title sorted! Fair play to her, we normally hear about how late the bride was for the wedding ceremony! lol
So, we’ve already mentioned the first dance, which went great – Josephine and Brian really got into the spirit of it, as did the bridal party when they joined them. We got a good number of dancers after that, and then lost a lot of them just before the Irish dancers came in (who were great btw!). It didn’t take us long to get them back though, and when we started Proud Mary that was everything back on track again! 🙂 Apart from the odd song, that was the floor full for the rest of the night – definitely a great way to end our year of weddings!
We’re back out again tonight, but it’s not a wedding. The fantastic Roe Park Resort in Limavady have booked us to play at their annual New Year’s Eve event, which open to the general public. So, if you’re in the Limavady / Derry area, call in and see us!
Thanks again to Josephine and Brian for booking us to play at their wedding. They were a great couple to spend our last wedding of the year with, and it was lovely to meet them both. They are currently living in Australia, and will be heading back there soon. However, they’re stopping off in Thailand on the way back for their honeymoon, with the stunning Phuket amongst the places that they’re visiting! Have a great time guys!
