Michelle & Alan’s Wedding

We finished our week in style at Michelle and Alan’s wedding in the beautiful Wild Duck Inn on Saturday night.  They had invited a great size of crowd for the room, and the place was looking fantastic!  Even the stage was looking great, as there was a cool star curtain the full width of the room behind us!

This blog title comes courtesy of Michelle (sorry Alan, we’re assuming it was Michelle’s idea! lol).  She was really thoughtful, and planned ahead for any of their female guests that wanted to go outside to stretch their legs or have a smoke, as she filled a basket with lovely fleecy blankets to keep the ladies warm!  They were also displayed really nice too, so we took a pic! (above)

It was a wee bit extra special for us to be playing at Michelle’s wedding, as we’ve known her Mum and Dad (Donna and Dominic) basically since the band started, as we played in Randalstown a LOT before we got so busy with weddings!  We then got to know Michelle once she was old enough to come and hear us in the Corner House bar herself!  We’d never met Alan before though, so it was great to be able to put a face to the name!

As mentioned above, we played in Randalstown a lot since we started, and always had a great time.  Every night we were greeted with fantastic, lively crowds who just loved to dance!  So, we were hoping the same from Michelle and Alan’s wedding, and thankfully we weren’t disappointed! What a fantastic night’s craic!  The floor never emptied from the first till the last song, and we even got to play a bit of Enter Sandman!  We also got to play Bed of Roses (a request for Michelle’s Dad) as the second last song – which was great, as we haven’t played it in ages!

Thanks again to Michelle and Alan for booking us to play at their wedding. It was lovely to catch up with Michelle again, as we haven’t seen her in ages, and it was great to finally meet Alan! They’ve no honeymoon plans at the moment, but hopefully will get away somewhere nice at a later time!
