Shauna & Ciaran’s Wedding

We finished our week in one of our favourite wedding venues – the fantastic An Grianan Hotel in County Donegal. It was Shauna and Ciaran’s wedding, so thanks to both of them for inviting us along. As usual An Grianan was looking fantastic, and their stunning circular function room is always a treat to play in. There’s a great photo below if you’ve never seen it!

Shauna and Ciaran picked Thomas Rhett’s brilliant song ‘Die a happy man’ for their first dance. It’s a really nice song if you’ve never heard, and well worth checking out. We started after that, with Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ for the bridal dance. Shauna had asked for some jives, so we sped things up with a few country songs, which go a good few dancers. However, as we’re probably too fussy for our own good, we felt that we could have gotten a few more, so changed the pace away from the country. it was a great move, as the floor filled! 🙂 We still got a few more jives in again later on, but when we had the right tunes on the place was bouncing – and stayed bouncing right through until 2am!

Thanks again to Shauna and Ciaran for booking us to play at their wedding. It was great to meet both of them, and hear all about their honeymoon plans. Speaking of which, they’re hoping to go to New York on honeymoon later in the year, which has obviously inspired our blog title! Before then, they’re going down to Galway this week for a few days – a nice chance to unwind after all the wedding planning! Fingers crossed you get to the Big Apple guys – have a great time!
