Orla & Brendan’s Wedding
We played our second of three weddings this week, and made our debut in yet another stunning place! Orla and Brendan had invited us to play in the beautiful Drumhalla House, which is near Rathmullan County Donegal. It’s situated on the Fanad Peninsula, and has amazing views of Lough Swilly. Add in the spectacular gardens, and it really should be on your shortlist if you’re thinking of getting married in the Donegal area!
Orla and Brendan’s brilliant choice of first dance inspired this blog title. They didn’t want to go for the obvious slow dance, and instead chose the B52’s ‘Love Shack’!! They pulled some great dancing moves out of the bag, and it didn’t take much encouragement to get the crowd to join them on the floor! 🙂
After such a great start to the night, we would have been really disappointed if we didn’t have a good crowd of dancers! Thankfully, we didn’t need to worry, as the floor filled straight away, and they kept going all night! Brendan is from Melbourne, so there were quite a few Australian guests in, and they were great craic. Of course, we had to play ‘Down Under’, which went down a storm!
Thanks again to Orla and Brendan for booking us to play at their wedding. It’s always great to meet yet another happy couple, especially when they’re great craic like these pair! They’ve no immediate honeymoon plans, as they’re going to back to Melbourne next week – maybe the trip back to Ireland was the honeymoon? Anyway, thanks again for having us guys, and safe travels back to Australia.
