Eimear and Shaun’s Wedding
It’s only a week since we were there, but we were back in the wonderful Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen again on Saturday night. Even though Eimear and Shaun contacted us last year, it seems like a lot longer than that since they booked us to play at their wedding – thanks to both of them for inviting us along. The Lough Erne Resort has fantastic scenery and views, but you really appreciate it when the weather was as good as it was on Saturday! We’d like to thank Rachael for looking after us as usual, and for bringing us coffee, tea and cookies while we were waiting to setup! 🙂
We’ve a pretty obvious title for this post! lol However, Shaun had asked us to play some of the Rolling Stones, so Honky Tonk Women had to be played! It’s one of our favourite songs to play, but we don’t play it that often as not every crowd will dance to it. However, Shaun and his mates are English, and the English crowds ALWAYS dance to the Stones! 🙂
Once Eimear and Shaun finished their first, we had Eimear’s nephew Tiernan take the mic to make his mini speech! He’s only a young lad, so It was short, but effective – he just roared ‘Let’s Get This Party Started!!’ into the mic! lol I think he got the biggest cheer of the night! Eimear is from Tattyreagh (near Omagh), and Shaun is from Lancashire. We’re not sure how many locals there were, but Shaun must have had a load of friends and family over, as the English guests were fantastic, and never left the dance floor all night! It was great, as it gave us chance to play a few tunes that we don’t normally play for a lot of the local crowds – cheers guys!
Thanks again to Eimear and Shaun for booking us to play at their wedding. It was a brilliant way for us to end our week, and great to meet both of them. They have an amazing honeymoon to Italy planned, and are going to Sorrento and the stunning Amalfi Coast amongst other places, plus they’re hoping to get to Pompeii too! Have a great time guys!
