Charlotte & Mark’s Wedding
We were playing in the beautiful Errigal Country House Hotel in Cootehill, County Cavan on Friday night. Charlotte and Mark had tied the knot, and asked us to come down and play at their evening reception – cheers guys! The hotel has literally just finished refurbishing their function room, and we mean just finished – they were still putting the carpet down on Thursday evening! lol However, it was worth the wait, as the room is looking fantastic! Add in their fabulous wedding food and buffet, and this place should definitely be on your shortlist if you’re thinking of having your reception in the Cavan area.
We ran into our good friend Cathal from Benburb Productions. Full of the craic as usual, but doing an amazing job with the wedding video at the same time. He produces some of the most artful and professional wedding videos on the local scene, and we can’t recommend him highly enough if you’re looking for someone to video your wedding. Check out his website for more info – www.benburbproductions.com
We also ran into another good friend, Padraig Donnelly who was looking after the photography duties for the day. Charlotte and Mark really had the dream for their photos and videos, as Padraig is also one of the best in the business, and really goes out of his way to capture all of the day’s memories. He’s one of the rare photographers not to have a website, as he always says he’s too busy to keep one updated! However, we highly recommend him, and you can call him on 077 3882 6257 for info about his wedding packages.
Our blog title comes courtesy of Charlotte and Mark, as they had a bucket of sparklers in the room with a label on each one saying ‘Let Love Sparkle’. We didn’t get a chance to see them being lit outside for Cathal’s end of night video shot, but we’re guessing it was a great scene for the DVD! Once we got the first dance finished it took us a few songs to suss out the crowd. They definitely were going to make us work to get them dancing, but thankfully once we got them they danced great all night! We had to change tactics quite a few times to keep things going, but that’s all part of the job! There were quite a few advanced air guitarists floating about at times, and we both had a few laughs at the great effort that a few guys put in. Especially when one of the guys ‘threw’ his air guitar to the wife, who then continued to play it – brilliant!! lol
Thanks again to Charlotte and Mark for booking us to play at their wedding – it was lovely to meet them both and great to be part of their wedding plans. We can’t wish them well on their travels yet – they’ve nothing booked as Charlotte is a teacher, and has to go back to work next week 🙁 However, they’re hoping to get away somewhere nice at Easter – wherever you go guys, have a great time!
