Cathy & Paddy’s Wedding

We finished our week in the fantastic Greenvale Hotel. Thanks to Cathy and Paddy for inviting us along to play at their wedding – a great way to end our week! One of the most stylish hotels in Tyrone, the Greenvale’s reputation for service is second to none. As usual the hotel doesn’t rest on it’s laurels, as the restaurant has recently undergone a major refurbishment, and now the bar is in the middle of a complete transformation – we can’t wait to see the finished result!

Our good friend Bobby from Motion Media Productions was looking after the video duties, and out for revenge!! As we’re all very mature adults, we regularly try and scare Bobby if we know he’s at the wedding! lol He normally never gets us, but made a dash for me (Rod) and scared the (fill in the blank!) out of me!! lmao Even though he behaved really immature (lmao) he’s one of the best video guys about, and you’re sure to get a really well produced wedding DVD if Bobby is looking after things on your big day. We always highly recommend him, so check out his website if you’re looking for someone to video your big day – www.motionmediaproductions.co.uk

We were in two minds whether or not to use this blog title, as it’s a poor reflection on us! :0( However, we’re always honest about what we do, and aren’t too proud to admit when we mess things up, and had to take two attempts at the first dance – thankfully that doesn’t happen too often! Cathy and Paddy had asked us to specially learn an acoustic version of Johnny Cash’s ‘Rose of my heart’ – which we happily agreed to do. However, I took a complete blank, and couldn’t remember how to play the song (even though we had rehearsed it perfectly!). What a nightmare – I felt like running off the stage! lol We started with me trying to remember the chords, but unfortunately the timing was that bad Brendan couldn’t sing over it, and we had to stop! After a quick apology and a a few seconds to gather my thoughts (no pressure) we thankfully were able to get the song played on the second attempt. It wasn’t our best version, but a lot better than the first version! lol

After the very shaky start (which thankfully Cathy and Paddy were very understanding about), we played the father/daughter dance before speeding things up. Thankfully, the rest of the night was a lot better than the start! It probably took us half an hour or so to relax after the horrible start, but after that things went great – especially when we rocked things up! Paddy and Cathy’s Dad are both big rock fans, and once first few AC/DC chords rang out, the floor filled! There was the odd quiet spell here and there afterwards, but overall the crowd were great and the place was bouncing for most of the night – phew!

Thanks again to Cathy and Paddy for booking us – it was great to be there. We previously met them at another wedding, so it was great to meet them again and catch up on a bit of banter! They’re going to Orlando on honeymoon, then finishing things off with a Caribbean cruise! Should be amazing – have a great time guys!
