Mairead & Mark’s Wedding
We finished our week in the Shepherd’s Rest, which is set in the Sperrins just outside Draperstown. It’s years since we last played in the Rest, so thanks again to Mairead and Mark for inviting us along to play at their big day. If you’re looking for a venue in a scenic area, with plenty of rustic charm, then look no further! It’s definitely a break from the norm, and offers the home from home service that you would expect in a rural area.
I think we played our coolest ever Father/Daughter song on Saturday night! Mairead asked us to play Guns n Roses’ Sweet Child O Mine for her and her Dad! What a great choice, and it also provided us with the title for this blog! We don’t really need to say much about the rest of the night, apart from what a night!! What a great crowd – they filled the floor from the first song till the last, and we couldn’t get finished with the cheering at the end of the night, and had to play a couple of encores to settle them down! Not that we’re complaining though – it’s great to get so much response from the crowd, so cheers guys!
Thanks again to Mairead and Mark for booking us to play at their wedding – it definitely a great night’s craic, and lovely for us to be there! They’ve a couple of trips to look forward to now! First they’re going on a ‘mini-moon’ to Spain, and then going further afield to spend Christmas in New York! That’s how to do it – have a great time guys!
