Christina & Daniel’s Wedding
We started our week near Dundalk, as we were playing in the Carrickdale Hotel at Christina and Daniel’s Wedding last night – thanks to both of them for inviting us along. It’s nearly two years since we last played in the Carrickdale, and even longer since we last played in the Burnish suite. There’s been a few nice changes to the room, as they’ve added some really cool chandeliers and some great colour changing mood lighting. It all looks great when the rest of the other lights are turned down!
Daniel unknowingly gave us the title for this blog, as he asked us to play the Hucklebuck during the disco, and then proceeded to show everyone the dance moves! Things started off a wee bit on the quiet side for our liking, however it didn’t take long to get the crowd sussed out! Once we did, they were up and down to the floor all night. We were able to get in a great range of tunes too! Everything from our good friend Johnny Brady’s version of Chicken Fried to the usual floor filler – Maniac 2000!
Thanks again to Christina and Daniel for booking us for their wedding – it was great to be part of their wedding plans. Daniel used to work in the Canal Court, and has seen us many times over the years, so it was nice of hear him say that we were his first choice – what a lovely compliment, considering the amount of wedding bands he’s seen! They’re going to Lanzarote on honeymoon, which should be lovely at this time of year – have a great time guys!
