Gemma and Martin’s Wedding
We were back in another castle last night, the lovely Darver Castle just outside Dundalk. While it may not be just as luxurious as Ashford Castle, it is still a beautiful place – thanks to Gemma and Martin for inviting us along. Mary, and the rest of the staff had the place looking great as usual, and everything was running bang on time, as the stage was just being cleared when we arrived.
Once we got the bridal dance finished, we started with some Van Morrison for a change, which went down really well, and brought quite a few dancers to the floor. After that we sped things up, and kept our dancers for a few songs. We were kept on our toes all night as people were only staying up for a few songs at a time, so we had to keep changing tactics throughout the night to bring our dancers back! After the buffet we had the McNicholl school of Irish in to put on a fantastic show, and they got a load of people on the floor to join them, which went down great! As usual we hit the stage again at the end of the night, and packed the dance floor again when we started off with Dirty Ol Town, and kept them there until we finished :0)
Thanks again to Gemma and Martin for booking us for their wedding, it was great to be part of their wedding. We’d also like to give a special thanks to Gemma’s Mum Gigi, who actually booked us – cheers Gigi! Due to Martin’s work commitments, they can’t get away on a long break at the moment, so they’re going down to the Slieve Russell in Cavan for a few days to chill out. However, it’s not all bad, as they plan to go to Santa Ponsa in Majorca (below) next year on honeymoon – have a great time guys!
